About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us scale 25-30X over the coming months as we become the operating system for workplace mobility. As one of the first 10 engineers, you'll have outsized impact and meaningful equity ownership in a company reimagining how people commute—potentially the largest transformation in urban transportation since the Internet.

Why Now?

Three massive shifts are converging: companies are wrestling with return-to-office policies and need better commute solutions, new compliance and sustainability mandates are forcing mobility program changes, and employees expect seamless, intelligent benefits experiences. We're building the infrastructure layer for this transformation, and the next 12 months will define the category winner.

AI is central to our product vision and competitive advantage. You'll be building AI-powered tools that help employees navigate their commutes more intelligently and employer admins manage mobility programs with strategic insights they've never had before. We're also using AI extensively to ship features faster than anyone thought possible in this space. This isn't AI as a feature—it's AI as our core differentiation.

You'll work closely with the founding team and lead the charge on our engineering systems. We're a small, exceptional team that moves fast and trusts each other completely. What You'll Be Doing (Responsibilities)

• Ship high-impact features in a fast-paced, iterative environment—both customer-facing AI capabilities and enterprise-grade infrastructure
• Architect and maintain large portions of the infrastructure as we scale to handle enterprise customers
• Set up and maintain engineering processes as the company grows
• Provide technical feedback to engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and team problem-solving sessions
• Set a high bar for execution, both in terms of quality and speed
• Write clean, robust code built for scalability and performance
• Hire, cultivate, and mentor new engineers as they join the team
• Join the founding team and be a part of all major future decisions

Whom We're Looking For (Requirements)

• 5+ years of experience in full-stack development with expertise in backend or frontend
• Proven ability to ship high-quality products in fast-moving environments, with or without leading teams
• The ability to take ownership of and lead the design for large-scale backend systems and infrastructure
• Strong design and development experience with Python & Django REST or similar frameworks/languages like Ruby on Rails or Java
• Strong development experience with React, Typescript, and Redux
• Experience with React Native for mobile development
• Experience building with AI tools like OpenAI, LangChain, and Anthropic—integrating LLMs into production applications
• Experience with web frameworks, web services, API design, and development
• Strong background using git, version control, performing code reviews, and working in an agile environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• You're highly motivated, have a strong sense of ownership, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment where you can take initiative and make things happen

Nice to Haves

• Familiarity with parts of our tech stack (Python, Django REST, React, Typescript, Redux, Postgres, Redis, AWS, Docker, React Native)
• Having developed and deployed RESTful or GraphQL APIs
• Previous founding/startup experience or an itch to start a company in the future. We will invest in you!
• Product-oriented thinking with the ability to think through customer requirements and prioritize what is a must-have, nice-to-have, or irrelevant
• Experience in hiring and/or leading a team of highly motivated engineers
• Experience working at a fintech or transportation/mobility company
• Experience building DevOps infrastructure (CI/CD pipelines, observability, high-efficiency systems)
• Genuine excitement about equity ownership and being part of building something from the ground up
