ABOUT FLOODBASE

Floodbase is changing the way businesses and communities adapt to increasing risk of climate change impacts from flooding. Last year, we launched a solution enabling re/insurers and public sector organizations to profitably design, underwrite, and monitor parametric flood insurance products, extending coverage to historically uninsurable locations and risks. Built on nearly a decade of industry-leading and peer-reviewed science, our proprietary solution continuously monitors flooding globally. Floodbase is backed by investors like Lowercarbon Capital, Collaborative Fund, and Floating Point, and trusted by NASA, The UN, Google, FEMA, and more.

About the role

Floodbase is looking for a Parametric Insurance Programs Manager to lead the design and roll-out of innovative, sector specific parametric flood programs. This is a key role responsible for leveraging Floodbase’s cutting-edge technology to create unique re/insurance solutions that close unmet flood protection gaps for businesses and governments. We are building new generations of parametric propositions and this is a unique opportunity to join a growing team with huge ambitions!

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Develop cutting-edge parametric insurance products and overarching programs for a range of industry sectors and end-clients
  • Create supporting commercial plans and lead the development of new parametric insurance programs in collaboration with Floodbase’s commercial, science and technology teams
  • Work closely with Floodbase’s broker and carrier partners to design and oversee efficient workflows that ensure clear and timely exchange of information relating to new business opportunities, responses to end-client submissions and proactive management of underwriting processes
  • Manage the evolution of a new strategy as it transitions from “build” to “run” phases, actively monitoring, adjusting and reporting on the success of Floodbase’s program strategy through qualitative and quantitative analysis

Who you are:

  • Proven experience of developing and taking new products to market
  • Track record of success selling new products through enterprise sales, ideally with a proven ability to close $50k+ annual contract value deals and exceed sales targets
  • 5+ years of experience at a high-growth enterprise sales start up in a complex market and/or in a fast paced strategic consulting environment
  • Tenacious and able to provide clear examples of showing perseverance in leading internal and external stakeholders to navigate a complex sales lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize sector-specific trends and client priorities in order to formulate sales strategies that align with market requirements
  • Solution and results oriented with experience managing multiple competing priorities and delivering in a structured and timely manner
  • Some expertise in complex insurance, finance or related products, and ideally a familiarity with parametric insurance
  • Committed to solving the climate crisis through practical and scalable means
  • Bonus: US brokers license (active or renewable)
