Who we are

FloodMapp is a rapidly growing SaaS technology company looking to expand our team to scale our product across Australia and the United States.

Flooding is the costliest natural disaster, causing billions in damage and taking thousands of lives across the globe every year. FloodMapp enhances public safety and mitigates asset damage through delivery of operational, impact-based flood forecasting and real-time flood intelligence as a service.

This cutting-edge technology is revolutionizing business continuity and emergency management; resulting in a transformational shift in emergency preparedness, response and recovery for government agencies and private sector asset owners. This shift to operational flood risk management is driving increased customer demand in the private sectors. We need a bigger team to meet and and keep up with the private sector growth.

At FloodMapp, people are our main focus, because hard problems require an exceptional team. As a diverse team, we value empathy, integrity, accountability and communication. Everyone learns from each other. Everyone is passionate about solving a growing global problem and making a global impact. We all work to build a safer future.

The role

With a strong starting roster of customers and a fast-growing pipeline across public and private sectors, we're hiring another Account Executive to own and grow the US market. You'll have an extensive territory, real ground-floor influence to shape our sales process, and the resources of a team that delivers.

Your mission: build and close a portfolio of public and private-sector accounts that fuels the next phase of FloodMapp’s growth in the US. This is a consultative, complex-cycle sales role. Our buyers are Director and C-suite level roles within federal, state and local governments, critical infrastructure (e.g., utilities, telecommunications, transportation), and enterprise asset owners.

What you'll own

  • The full deal lifecycle, from business development and discovery through proposal, negotiation, and closed contract
  • Consultative discovery that deepens the understanding of each customer's mission and buying process, and surfaces real value our solutions deliver
  • Account strategies grounded in customer outcomes and aligned to FloodMapp's growth objectives
  • Stakeholder mapping across economic buyer, champion, technical validator, and influencer. Multi-threaded so deals don't rest on a single contact
  • Public-sector deal mechanics: budget cycles, grant-funded buyers, sole-source paths, and cooperative purchasing vehicles
  • CRM discipline for pipeline and forecast accuracy and deal execution
  • Representing FloodMapp at industry events and conferences

What success looks like in your first 12 months

  • A qualified, multi-threaded pipeline covering your territory across target sectors
  • New logo wins that demonstrate consistent value-selling and execution against forecast
  • A demonstrable point of view on how FloodMapp wins in your market, e.g. what works, what doesn't, and what we should change
  • Strong working relationships with marketing, product, and customer success teams

What you bring

  • Value-selling mindset. You sell outcomes and business impact. You translate technical capability into the buyer’s language.
  • Dynamic in the room. You pivot your approach in real time, act on buying signals, and turn discovery into commitment.
  • Relationships built on Trust. In safety and emergency response, trust is everything. You build trusted relationships with Customers, Partners, Subcontracts and your team. You are always trusted and accountable to deliver.
  • Methodology, plus willingness to adopt. You bring a proven sales approach and you're open to adopting frameworks we use across the team.
  • Target sector deal experience. You've sold to government, critical infrastructure, and/or enterprise asset owners.
  • Ownership and self-direction. You build your own plan, run your own pipeline, and align company strategy to execution.
  • Strong written communication. You can draft large and complex proposals, RFP responses, and executive follow-ups under deadline.
  • Track record of closing. You've consistently hit quota in a complex, multi-stakeholder B2B SaaS sales environment. Years of experience matter less than the pattern of results.

Amazing, but not required

  • Experience in emergency management or critical infrastructure operations
  • Working knowledge of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)
  • Understanding of hydrology, flooding, or weather products
  • Experience selling technical, licensed SaaS products

Compensation and perks

We pay competitively for the US market and structure compensation to reward closed business.

  • OTE $175,000 – $250,000 (base salary plus commission), with uncapped commission structured against achievable quota
  • Health benefits: medical, dental, and vision
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Participation in FloodMapp's Employee Share Option Plan – real equity in the company you're helping build
  • Flexible and hybrid working options
  • Employee wellness program
