We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Engineer to lead our simulation efforts within the autonomous robotics division. As a senior technical leader, you will play a pivotal role in setting the technical direction for simulation technologies that underpin our autonomy stacks, including perception pipelines, planning, SLAM, and the extensive testing required to ensure our robots can operate effectively in complex, real-world environments.

This is a new function at the company and you’ll need to be excited about creating this capability from the ground up!

What you’ll do:

• Architect, build, and scale infrastructure to enable efficient and effective simulation of complex scenarios and environments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, guiding them in the implementation of simulation technologies and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and integrate simulation tools and processes into the broader engineering workflow.
• Document and disseminate technical knowledge and insights throughout the organization to foster a culture of learning and innovation.

What you’ll need:

• 8+ years of experience developing simulation for automated or robotic systems
• Experience with robotics middleware, isaac sim, gazebo or similar robotics simulation tools

Nice to have:

• Warehouse or logistics experience
• Expertise with robotics
