POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Qcells is seeking a detail-oriented and strategically minded Communications Manager to join our corporate communications team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing skills and a keen attention to detail, with a passion for crafting compelling narratives that support corporate objectives. This role supports high-impact communications across Qcells, including media relations, internal communications, and executive messaging.
Success in this position requires the ability to translate complex business and policy topin into clear, engaging content, particularly within the energy policy landscape from the state to national level. This position is on-site in Washington D.C and requires up to 15% travel.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Media Relations: Support and drive media strategies with state, national, and trade press. Build and maintain media lists; track reporters, outlets, and industry coverage.
- Content Creation: Draft and distribute press releases, media advisories, op-eds, statements, and briefing materials. Develop messaging documents, talking points, FAQs, and media prep materials for executives.
- Policy & Industry Monitoring: Stay informed on industry trends, trade policy, energy, and clean energy developments to inform proactive communication strategies.
- Internal & Cross-functional Alignment: Collaborate with social/digital teams and internal stakeholders to ensure consistency in brand voice and amplify media coverage.
- Crisis & Issues Management: Monitor news cycles and provide timely media reports/alerts to internal stakeholders.
- Quality Control: Copyedit materials for clarity, accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.
- Event Support: Support event planning and provide on-the-ground media assistance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related field.
- More than 5 years of relevant experience (agency, corporate, political or nonprofit preferred).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills across audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong copyediting and proofreading abilities (AP Style proficiency is required)
- Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with media monitoring and distribution tools (e.g., Cision, PR Newswire).
- Team-oriented, proactive and adaptable in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in policy communications, government affairs, or issue advocacy is a strong plus.
- Ability to distill complex topics into clear, engaging messaging.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications.
