Role

The Gencores’ team seeks a mission-driven Material Scientist to join our research and development team. You will be part of a fast-growing, interdisciplinary team of outstanding scientists and engineers working closely together to structure and process our new composite metamaterials.

Your essential responsibilities:

• Design, produce, and characterize Gencores’ novel metamaterials using a suite of in-house and external state-of-the-art characterization tools.

• Design and execute experimental campaigns (DOE) to analyze exploratory materials and chemicals and optimize formulation performance and material processability.

• Keep team developments on track, balancing speed and scientific rigor

Your experience or skills:

• Critical thinker that challenges the status quo and can define and test innovative procedures or protocols.

• Hands-on experience with materials synthesis, formulation, processing, and characterization methods, such as Instron testing, DMA, DSC, TGA, FTIR, and rheology.

• Work effectively in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and able to give clear presentations.

• Experience with data analytic software or programming (Python, JMP, Minitab, Tableau). Great result recording skills

• Excellent oral and written scientific communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills

• Comply with EH&S requirements and promote safety in the work environment

Our preferred qualifications:

• M.Sc or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry Material Science, or equivalent experience gained outside academia.

• Become a pivotal team member in our early-stage team
