We are looking for an Engineering Manager who will work on building and managing engineering teams for us to accurately scale standard GridX products for our valued utility customers. The primary focus will be on choosing optimal solutions to use for these purposes, then leading Engineering team members in maintaining, implementing, and monitoring them. You will also be responsible for integrating and aligning them with the broader strategy and architecture used across the company.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for, as well as extensive experience in, engineering management, leading technical teams, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and Engineering leadership to devise and build the right solutions.You'll act as a key bridge between technical execution and business goals.
  • Participate in Design discussions and brainstorming sessions to select, integrate, and maintain tools and frameworks required to solve engineering problems.
  • Solve problems in the complex energy domain using a broad perspective, collaborate with applicable knowledge sources and diverse perspectives, and share findings with your peers as appropriate.
  • Experience working with software and support teams in multiple regions, leading and collaborating asynchronously.
  • Take initiatives and show the drive to push our company’s technical roadmap into the future.
  • Mentor a team of engineers located across the globe, providing guidance and technical expertise.
  • Drive the team to deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced environment. You’ll oversee the iterative process, balancing speed and product development with maintaining a clean, maintainable codebase.
  • Build a culture of excellence and continuous improvement by encouraging open communication, feedback, and accountability. Ensure the team adheres to high standards in code quality, testing, and performance.
  • Responsible for Engineering Team performance and adherence to GridX process and procedures
  • Stay up to date on Engineering systems/tools and industry codes/standards.
  • Identify potential Engineering risks and develop strategies to mitigate; implement these strategies and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Be a strong partner with the product team to deliver quality products that customers love.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of management experience with a proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers.
  • Strong knowledge of software and product development methodologies.
  • Broad understanding of multi-discipline Engineering/Design for all project phases.
  • Excellent understanding of when to apply appropriate software Design Patterns when required.
  • Experience with data warehouse and BI solutions.
  • Leadership abilities with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams.

Your Location

Because much of the US Engineering team is based in Denver, CO, it is preferred that the selected candidate be located in the Denver area but it is not required. The role will include occasional work at a GridX shared office or attendance at offsites and/or customer sites, as determined by your role’s responsibilities and agreed to with your manager.

Compensation

Compensation is determined by several factors which may include skillset, experience level, and geographic location. The expected base salary range for this role is $175,000 to $215,000 per year. Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
