About the role
Mechanical engineering at Halter is about to take off. We’ve just released our best collar yet,
and in the next few years, we’re going to aggressively scale up production to support farmers
and ranchers all over the world. Our hardware needs to last a very long time in an extremely
harsh environment, and this needs to hold true for every collar we build (and we plan to build a
lot of them). There are very few applications in the field of mechanical engineering as unique
and challenging as ours, which makes it the obvious next step in your career...
With our recent series D fund-raise, Halter has reached elite status as a start up, and we’re just
getting started. Our mission is to make global agriculture more sustainable and more profitable,
and our hardware is a core piece of that mission. With plenty of new markets to unlock, there
will be no shortage of exciting mechanical projects, all of which require problem solving, critical
thinking, and the ability to execute to a high standard. These projects will offer ample
opportunity for up-skilling, leadership, mentorship and career development. At Halter, our teams
are small and agile, which means you get to work on the most important projects, and contribute
to the company's success, whatever your role may be.
For the next stage, we need talented, disciplined mechanical engineers who know how to
develop hardware. And beyond that, the desire to innovate and create all that’s yet to come in
our journey to revolutionize farming.
Join the mechanical team and you’ll get to work on something truly world class for a world class
tech company. You’d be crazy not to.

Our Office First Approach
There’s a reason you visit your friends in person, live with your family and don’t do dinners over Zoom. Humans are wired for connection. We believe a world-class, in-person office culture is the best way for high-performing teams.
Being office first is a core pillar of our culture. We believe in-person connections are key to driving your own growth, learning, impact, and building genuine long-lasting relationships. Strong relationships make it easier to disagree, give feedback, and do meaningful and aligned work. We don’t like having heaps of rules or policies, but this means having strong, trusted relationships is critical.
We’re office first, not office only. This means working from the office everyday is our default setting, but we flex when we need to. We have a high-trust culture, so everyone is trusted to do what’s best for Halter.
Our office vibe is something special, it’s hard to describe until you’re here, but people at Halter who have come from fully remote or hybrid companies say they could never go back - the high energy and spectacular people they are now surrounded by everyday makes work so enjoyable. Your growth, your learning and your impact is truly unlimited here, and a big part of that comes from being together solving problems, innovating, building context, and constantly learning from each other.
