As a Control Systems Manager you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Overall responsible for Heaten’s industrial automation system design, including software development, and also participating directly in hands-on development whenever relevant or required
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a strategy for Heaten’s industrial automation systems together with the CTO
  • Responsible for hiring highly competent control systems technologists, including, but not limited to programmers, electrical engineers and technicians
  • Responsible for proposing, planning, technology planning and coordination of Heaten’s industrial automation systems
  • Ensuring that the right control system equipment is selected
  • Ensuring that the right tools are available
  • Coordinate between different workgroups/departments, e.g. process design, mechanical design, digitalization so that software development is done according to requirements and specifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • An excellent and professional way of communicating and interacting with colleagues and employees reporting to you
  • Technical education (bachelor’s/diploma/master’s degree)
  • Min 5 years+ experience within relevant field, including management experience
  • Experience from practical test applications and/or installation/commissioning
  • Solid experience from the design and operation of real-time control systems
  • General high level of technical insight
  • Substantial hands-on experience with development of electrical systems, instrumentation and complex software for industrial automation
  • Knowledge of traditional development systems is also an advantage (e.g. Siemens S7 and similar)

We also believe that you are:

  • Proficient in modern PLC programming languages and development systems (e.g. CoDeSys)
  • Proficient in at least one high-level programming language, e.g. C#, C++ etc.
  • International experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Adequate or fluent in German
  • Enjoying managing employees with various backgrounds.

Our new colleague will work in close collaboration and coordination with Heaten’s technical team and will be reporting to the CTO.

A limited amount of traveling is to be expected, but the main work location is in Kristiansand, Norway. Home office is an available option whenever relevant or required.
