Description

Hyperframe seeks a creative, self-reliant, and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to execute continuous improvement and new product development for Hyperframe construction products manufacturing line. Successful candidates are passionate about DFMA principles and pursue a strong understanding of the manufacturing processes needed to produce their designs. Hobbyist experience with construction or home remodeling is a plus. Our ideal candidate exudes a positive attitude and is excited to join a growing construction tech startup!

Responsibilities

  • Design machine elements for our manufacturing processes:
  • Implement processes able to manufacture product at a high throughput in a robust and repeatable manner
  • Rapidly iterate on fixture and jig design
  • Automate mature processes
  • Grow capability to accommodate expanding product line
  • Investigate, justify, and implement automation and new technology opportunities
  • Create all 3D models and technical documentation
  • Assist in generating CAD documentation, authoring SOPs and test instructions, and creating/updating PFMEAs while ensuring that necessary verification and validation activities are performed according to Quality Systems Regulations

Skills

· An enthusiasm for tool-free assembly

· A deep understanding of metal stamping, metal fastening techniques, commercially available materials (primarily steels), and formability principles

· The ability to create and analyze tolerance stack-ups

· A penchant for Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles

· The ability to adapt to continually evolving design requirements, and the enthusiasm to influence them

· The ability to rapidly generate many ideas, and cycle through multiple concepts before settling on an optimal solution

· Humility and empathy for the customer

· A proclivity to learn

Qualifications

· Acted as the primary responsible engineer on at least one project that involved control panel design, machine programming, and mechanical design, that was part of an assembly line

· You have (Mechanical Engineer II: 2-4 years) (Senior: 5+ years) of manufacturing system design

· Evidence of exceptional ability (4-year engineering degree not required)
