Job Summary

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-focused Purchasing Assistant to support our Accounting Team. In this role, you will assist in the procurement of goods and services necessary for company operations. This is a great opportunity for recent graduates or those looking to begin a career in procurement and supply chain management. The position is full-time, on-site, and based in Midtown Sacramento, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment for company operations.
  • Collect required documents for vendor onboarding, such as W-9s, ACH instructions, and Certificates of Insurance.
  • Support the creation and processing of purchase orders (POs).
  • Collaborate with operational teams to confirm goods receipt and assist in recording item receipts to ensure accurate 3-way PO matching for invoices.
  • Monitor order statuses, ensure timely deliveries, and address any vendor-related issues.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers, accounts payable, and internal stakeholders to facilitate purchasing activities.
  • Ensure adherence to company purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative support to the Lead Purchaser and team as needed.
  • Assist the Accounting Department with additional tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree required, preferably in business, accounting, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Experience: No prior experience required; 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or a similar role is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of procurement procedures is preferred but not essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other organizational tools.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a start-up environment.
  • A pre-employment background check is required.

Salary Range

The Purchasing Assistant position offers an hourly wage ranging from $24.50 to $28.85, based on experience and qualifications.

Candidates must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
