What you’ll do
As an Air Systems - Electrical Engineer at Infravision, your core responsibilities will include:
- Apply electrical engineering knowledge to the design and development of new products as well as product changes and enhancements.
- Conduct electrical circuit and system-level design analysis, embedded systems hardware testing and electrical circuit troubleshooting.
- Develop test simulations, test methods and perform required testing or data collection
- Conduct root cause failure analysis at the component through system level
- Support continuation engineering of existing released products
- Perform reliability analysis leading to product quality improvement
- Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, drawings, and processes
- Give detailed project estimates for time and cost
- Develop mixed-signal PCB schematics and layout designs.
- Work with outside design partners and vendors for new product designs and maintain current products
- Maintain technical coordination with Engineering, products design, test, EMC engineering and manufacturing.
- Work with other engineering, manufacturing, sales / marketing, and quality assurance staff to coordinate pilot production of new products
- Resolve PCB design issues with fabrication and fracturing vendors. Proactively participates in the evolution and definition of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) guidelines.
- Provide engineering support to factory/customer support
- Provide and coordinate engineering support for prototype builds and lab testing
- Write test plans and procedures for manufacturing and testing.
- Maintain currency on all relevant safety and electrical compliance standards and educate the team when changes occur.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications and Experience
- BS Degree in Electrical engineering or other related engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Strong knowledge and experience in mixed-signal PCB schematics and layout.
- Experience with Product Engineering and development.
- Experience with design and implementation of low power, battery-operated equipment.
- Experience using CAN, and electro-mechanical systems on mobile vehicles.
- Experience with FCC, EU and other certification bodies.
- Knowledge of electronic systems used on vehicles.
- Extensive experience with Altium Schematic Capture and PCB Design tools or equivalent.
- Experience with TCP/IP, USB, Bluetooth, and/or Wi-Fi.
- Experience with version control using git.
- Experience supporting multiple products and platforms in Sustaining Engineering situations concurrently with new product development.
- Awareness of the interaction of software and hardware in complex systems and/or real-time embedded systems
- Experience with logic analyzers, oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers for testing purposes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills, creative, innovative and open-minded.
- Ability to travel within the U.S. and internationally including Canada, Australia, India and Europe.
Highly Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Must be able to work independently, as well as closely with others in a small team as the situation requires, both within the office / workshop environment and in the field.
- Experience with lean software development methodologies.
- This is safety-critical software, so background in safety-critical hardware development is a plus.
- Self-driven professional able to work in a team or individually, demonstrating a high personal interest in
- Quality Assurance areas of software development and committed to producing high quality work.
- Self-motivated to expand current skill set and develop knowledge of autonomous systems, robotics and the Infravision product stack.
- Holds a current or has held Part 107 pilot licence.
