Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in developing innovative solutions for new products and improving our existing product lines. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in mechanical engineering, with exposure to or interest in Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) processes, prototype development, and New Product Introduction (NPI). This position requires a blend of technical knowledge, hands-on mechanical skills, and a willingness to learn manufacturing lines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Design and develop mechanical components, systems, and products, with guidance from senior team members as needed.
  • Support the product development lifecycle from concept through design, prototyping, testing, and into production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, to help integrate mechanical designs into production lines.
  • Apply hands on mechanical experience to help troubleshoot and solve engineering problems.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining technical documentation, including design files, assembly instructions, and test reports.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement practices that enhance product performance and manufacturing processes.
  • Stay curious about industry trends, technologies, and best practices, and bring fresh ideas to the team.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 0-4 years of engineering experience, with a strong focus on mechanical engineering and OEM processes.
  • Some hands on experience in mechanical design, prototyping, or product development, whether through coursework, internships, or professional roles.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes; direct experience working on manufacturing lines is a plus.
  • Exposure to New Product Introduction (NPI) or an interest in bringing products from concept to market.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and familiarity with engineering tools for design and simulation.
  • Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management systems is a plus, but not required.
  • Solid skills in technical documentation, including creating and maintaining engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Highly adaptable and views change as an opportunity for growth and innovation.

Walking, sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. Lifting, carrying, or pushing/pulling supplies, materials, equipment and/or items weighing up to 75 pounds. Clean and well-organized unconditioned shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but at times requires ear plugs, use of eye protection, and/or occasional use of a respirator.

Ability to operate standard office equipment such as a computer, keyboard, mouse, and phone. Vision sufficient to read a computer screen for extended periods. Repetitive hand and wrist movements associated with typing and mouse use. Extended periods of sitting or standing, depending on preference.
