Kinetic Automation is building a network of automated repair centers for modern vehicles. The auto industry is transitioning from mechanically complex vehicles to mechanically simple ones with complex software and technology. Kinetic aims to be the primary infrastructure-as-a-service for servicing future vehicles with our robotic repair centers, powered by our proprietary software and AI. We are a strong team of experienced robotics + automotive + shared mobility enthusiasts who have worked in self-driving, mapping, lidar, motorsport, ride-sharing and ghost kitchens. We are a venture backed startup (Series A) with a clear go-to-market strategy and meaningful revenue.

Join our innovative team at Kinetic as we push the boundaries of technology in computer vision and robotics! We are seeking a talented Computer Vision Engineer with expertise in sensor calibration, pose estimation, and numeric optimization to enhance our project capabilities in developing cutting-edge solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement algorithms for camera and lidar sensor calibration.
  • Develop solution for in-house camera calibration at scale.
  • Enhance our computer vision capabilities to improve pose estimation accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the robotics team to integrate algorithms into real-world applications.
  • Optimize existing systems for better performance and efficiency.
  • Write robust, maintainable code in Python and C++ for real-time systems.
  • Participate in all phases of the project lifecycle, from design to deployment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sensor calibration techniques for cameras and lidars.
  • Strong background in computer vision, machine learning, and robotics.
  • Proficient in programming with Python and C++.
  • Solid understanding of geometric computer vision and numerical optimization algorithms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with real-time operating systems and embedded systems.
  • Familiarity with software development tools and methodologies (Git, Docker, Agile/Scrum).
  • Prior experience in an R&D environment working on commercial or industrial robotics projects.
