Minara Resources has an opportunity for a Maintenance Superintendent – Ore Leach to join our established and dedicated team.

Minara Resources is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role

The successful candidate will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who manages and directs the activities of mechanical maintenance teams within our ore leach area. They will also maintain the maintenance management systems and procedures, while effectively meeting all productivity requirements.

You will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate the activities of the shift and day maintenance personnel to minimise plant disruptions due to mechanical failures.
  • Schedule maintenance work to minimise impact on production.
  • Oversee all area ongoing maintenance and ensure all planned maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and in the shortest time frame.
  • Direct the supervision of maintenance fitters working within the area of responsibility.
  • Direct the supervision of sub-contractors working within the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure suitability and availability of equipment spares.
  • Close liaison with maintenance planners and schedulers.
  • Control of approved maintenance operating budgets.
  • Actively contribute to our safety and environmental policy and implement change as directed by the management team.

About You


Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager this role would suit a detailed and process-oriented person who can provide clear and supportive leadership to the team.

You will also have:

  • Mechanical engineering degree or mechanical trades certificate.
  • Successful completion of an approved WHS Risk management unit for statutory supervisors.
  • Evidence of successfully passing an applicable legislation examination for statutory supervisors.
  • Extensive experience within a complex metallurgical plant environment in a maintenance role.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a supervisor or worker in a similar operation or industry.
  • Experience in safety, quality, environmental and maintenance management systems.
  • Experience in managing costs and budgeting.
  • At least 8 years’ supervisory experience.
