Located in the Gulf of Carpentaria, 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola, MRM produces and processes zinc, lead, and silver from our open-cut mine. We’re seeking a Coordinator for our production mining team who brings the right balance of people and operational skills to join our team as a frontline leader. In this role, you will assist in managing and coordinating the safe and efficient operation of the mining team to achieve production targets.

Key Responsibilities:
- Safety & Environmental Leadership: Uphold strong safety and environmental leadership by reinforcing adherence to Glencore's Fatal Hazard Protocols and Life-Saving Behaviours, while ensuring compliance with MRM’s policies, standards, and procedures.
- Incident Management: Promptly report, investigate, and ensure timely closure of incidents and non-conformances, escalating any identified risks or issues to the relevant functional leads as necessary.
- Mentoring & Coaching: Lead, mentor, and coach Supervisors to enhance their competencies, ensure consistency in decision-making, and foster a positive, high-performance culture that aligns with Glencore’s core values.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate daily GCOM meetings and collaborate with various stakeholders, including Dispatch, Planning, Maintenance, and Geology teams, to achieve strategic operational targets.
- Planning & Coordination: Develop, plan, coordinate, and execute the Weekly and Monthly Mine Plan, which includes critical activities such as development initiatives, dump and tip head preparations, ensuring readiness for dig locations, and scheduling essential machine maintenance.
- Team Alignment: Collaborate with and align Supervisors and mining teams to meet established priorities, proactively addressing any operational misalignments to ensure the achievement of production targets.
- Performance Monitoring: Assess and manage production performance by optimising resource allocation to meet KPIs and budgetary requirements, while driving continuous improvement efforts to minimise costs and reduce waste.
Successful Applicants Will Have:
- Safety Commitment: A strong commitment to promoting safety, effective risk management, and a continuous improvement ethos, with a focus on cultivating a safety-first culture.
- People Leadership: Experience in supervising and developing large teams to successfully deliver on business objectives.
- Experience: Previous production experience in an open-pit mining environment, including a proven track record in a Leading Hand or Supervisor role, with demonstrated expertise in leading and developing diverse teams.
- Competencies: Possession of S1, S2, and S3 Supervisor certifications (desired) along with a valid manual driver’s license.
- Skills: Proficient in IT and Microsoft Office applications, with experience handling administrative duties across multiple systems and knowledge of budget management practices.
- Qualifications**: A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is preferred, accompanied by strong leadership qualities and abilities.
