Job Description
Reporting to the Health Safety & Training Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of safety professionals and providing guidance and advice to the operation on work, health, and safety related programs.
About the Role
This is a leadership role, and a unique opportunity for safety professionals to take the next step in their career. As the Safety Superintendent, not only will you gain invaluable exposure to senior management on site, but you will also have a sizeable number of direct reports.
Coaching, developing and mentoring your team, as well as helping them to align with the HVO values and overall business direction
Work with the HST Manager to provide strategic direction for safety on site through continuous improvement to develop a culture of workplace health and safety ownership.
Roster and Location
Monday to Friday professional roster
Based on site at HVO (off Lemington Road)
About You
The ability to think outside the square, challenge the status quo to deliver innovative solutions
The ability to establish and maintain strong, effective relationships to achieve interdepartmental cooperation.
Demonstrated ability to develop high-quality communication materials, including business cases and project reporting
A tertiary qualification in Work, Health and Safety
Lead team with an alignment to HVO’s values
Holds self and others to account
Compelling communicator with the ability to empower and delegate
Emotionally intelligent leader with the ability to influence and inspire others
A resilient, adaptable leader with a passion for results
Authentic safety professional with a positive disposition
