About the role:

Reporting to the Manager, Health and Safety, the Supervisor, Health and Safety is responsible for the administration of a comprehensive health and safety program. This position is vital for ensuring industry standards in safety and wellbeing are met.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with strong communication and interpersonal skills, who can identify areas of improvement and advocate change. The ability to influence audiences across different departments is essential for this
position. The successful individual has strong multitasking and organization abilities and can keep accurate records.

In this role you will:
- Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
- Manage and mentor a team of safety personnel including Safety Coordinators, Loss Prevention Officers, and Security Gate personnel
- Provide technical support and functional leadership to site departments and personnel in areas related to health and safety
- Ensure adequate Emergency Response requirements are met
- Guide and advise contractor safety initiatives
- Update and maintain sites Workplace Monitoring Program, including statistical analysis
- Develop, coordinate, and conduct Safety Training, Audits, and Inspections
- Maintain site and corporate Safety Reporting requirements
- Sustain the Health and Safety Management program
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or Applied Sciences
- Minimum five years of related experience in the management of a team
- Possess a Canadian Registered Safety Professionals designation or willing to achieve this designation
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office® package: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Mining or heavy industry experience is an asset
- CRSP, CSP, ROH, or CIH designation is an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
