Summer Intern - Nickel/Ferro AlloysAbout the role:Your key responsibilities and accountabilities will be:
- Daily management and coordination of all contract administration and warehouse management functions
- Utilizes an inventory control system to record inventory and assure availability.
- Prepares, processes, and distributes required shipping documents such as coordinating import and export clearances and issuance of bills of ladings, GSP requirements, etc.
- Interfaces with suppliers and customers, and inter-co offices, where needed.
- Responsible for meeting monthly customer quotes
- Maintains inventory records, allocation of movement in trading system, payment and receipt of material invoices as well as secondary costs
- Coordinating transportation and logistics for products handled, including tracking and handling any customer/warehouse/supplier inquires/issues
- Ensure pricing / hedging are booked correctly and timely into front end trading system as well as ensuring hedge instructions are reported timely
- Prepares and submits a variety of reports to accounting for daily, monthly and yearly inventory tracking such as inventory reconciliation and insurance declarations
- Pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent with excellent academic record.
- Strong analysis/writing/planning skills.
- Advanced proficiency with Excel & Word.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, reliable, and good time management / organizational skills.
- Ambitious and entrepreneurial, willing to learn.
- Strong interest in international commodity markets.
- This is a paid internship – $23/hour.
- In person office attendance is required in accordance with Glencore’s US policy (currently Monday – Thursday).
- Office is located at 330 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10017.
- Intern will be responsible for transport costs to/from the Glencore office.
