The Role
This challenging position will see you be responsible for delivering maintenance schedules for Copper Smelter- Planning team. This is a residential role in Mount Isa working a 5/2, 4/3 Roster. This position will report into the Lead Planner – Copper Smelter.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Development and delivery of effective weekly work schedules through SAP for maintenance execution
  • Review and validate work requests for completeness and technical accuracy
  • Ensure statutory and compliance-related tasks are planned within required timeframes.
  • Procurement of resources, parts and materials, ensuring availability for all scheduled work
  • Championing Maintenance Work Management process and mentoring team members
  • Create job scopes including labour hours and skill requirements, tools and equipment, materials and BOM verification, permits and isolation requirements and risk assessments.
  • Manage and improve work centre work management KPIs
  • Support backlog management and work order aging control
  • Assist in developing detailed shutdown work packs
  • Support execution teams during shutdown events as required
  • Supporting supervisors and management team to achieve work management targets
  • Ensuring the systems that support effective work management are simple, accurate and effective
  • Review cost commitment reports to ensure accuracy and alignment with budget allocations.
  • Provide input into the monthly forecast identifying costs to be assigned to upcoming monthly period.
  • Create service purchase requisitions as required ensuring costs are allocated to the correct cost centre and expense element.
  • Review outstanding service orders and prepare end-of-month accruals to ensure expenses are accounted for in the correct reporting period.
  • Ensure contractor labour costs are tracked and reported accurately, ensuring timesheets match actuals hours worked onsite by reviewing gate times.
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
  • Trade certificate, Asset Management qualifications or extensive planning experience preferred
  • A want to effect and drive sustainable change
  • Planning and scheduling experience with SAP or similar CMMS
  • A strong financial acumen, including forecasting, budgeting and cost management.
  • Exposure to large mining or manufacturing environments
  • Intermediate level of Microsoft office suite; Project, Excel, Word
  • Ability to demonstrate a high standard and commitment to a safe work culture
