The Role
A vacancy currently exists within the Copper Smelter Maintenance team for a Fixed Plant Fitter. Reporting to the Supervisor – Mechanical Maintenance, you will provide effective maintenance in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner to ensure that production and statutory requirements are met. This is an excellent opportunity to further your experience and develop your technical skills and industry knowledge. This position is residentially based in Mount Isa and will require you to work a Monday to Friday roster, 48 hour week.

- Repair and maintenance of fixed plant within the Copper Smelter
- High and safe quality of work conducted and maintained
- Carry out routine maintenance Enter Notifications when issues found
- Complete Slams and JSEA’s for each task
- Helping develop and follow maintenance schedules
- Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter
- Ability to think logically and to solve problems when required
- Flexible in terms of rosters and possible changes to rosters when required as per business needs
- Previous mining or heavy industry experience will be highly regarded
- Pumps rebuilds
- Coupling alignments
- Crushing and conveying experience
- Over Head crane services and repairs
- Cooling tower maintenance and heat exchangers
- Basic computer skills
- S123 highly regarded but not essential
