Job Description
In this role you will be responsible for:

Assisting to manage the statutory functions of the mechanical engineering team at the CHPP by:
reviewing and monitoring compliance to the Mechanical Engineering Control Plan
making improvements to mechanical engineering practices and standards onsite
facilitating best practice risk management as it applies to mechanical engineering core hazards in the mining industry
completing health and safety incident investigations
Engaging and consulting internal and external stakeholders to facilitate problem solving
Contributing to the continuous improvement of asset management of plant and structures at the CHPP sites including coal processing fixed plant, conveyors, rail mounted reclaimers and stackers, crushing plant, screens, pumps and structures including train loading infrastructure and coal and reject bins
Managing various sizes of capital and improvement projects
Driving safety and performance standards and behaviours by being a positive leader and contributing to an effective & professional team environment

Monday to Friday Roster
Based on site at HVO CHPP - North Facility
About You
Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
An interest to develop your career and secure your Mechanical Engineer’s certificate of competency from the NSW Resource Regulator is advantageous. Your career development will be supported by HVO
High level of motivation to deliver positive engineering outcomes with a practical approach
Sound understanding of legislation, mechanical engineering standards and industry best practice as it applies to mining work health and safety
Promoting and maintaining a high level of positive safety performance and workplace culture through teamwork, personal commitment, and application of the company values
Ability to work both autonomously and within a team environment in a high paced, large and dynamic operation
Sound communication, consultation and facilitation skills
