- Participating in the daily GCOM safety talk;
- Observing the work area and report any hazards to the supervisor;
- Monitoring and installation of maintenance systems;
- Receiving information and requests around electrical and mechanical failures;
- Making expertise available to both as needed;
- Physically assists with repair and restitution of equipment;
- Supports the IT function as required;
- Identifies and responds to work or environmental hazards;
- Assists HSEC staff with monitoring and rectification of sub-standard conditions;
- To always follow required lock out and other safety procedures;
- Assists with accident/incident investigations as required;
- Ensure safety devices and guards on all equipment and machinery are maintained in good order;
- Supports good housekeeping initiatives and systems;
- Performs necessary tasks to maintain housekeeping standards;
- Must be able to read PLC program and make small modifications; and
- Must be able to fault find on Pressure, Flow, Temperature, Weighing systems, Level, etc. circuits.
- Grade 12 ;
- Technical Certificate Level TC3;
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical/computer engineering;
- Completed Instrument trade test;
- Minimum two years’ experience Relevant Programming;
- Minimum three years’ experience field Instrumentation as an Artisan;
- Technical experience on Electrical Arc in furnace or similar environment will be advantageous;
