  • Receiving materials deliveries, check movement control from the weighbridge and instruct the driver to offload material at the correct stockpile, in order to ensure zero contamination of materials and good stock control;
  • Inspecting raw materials at delivery in order to ensure that it is the correct order as per movement control and to ensure that there is no foreign material or objects, which could contaminate the material;
  • Drawing (sample) incoming raw material samples from the (offloaded loads of) material according to the SANAS standards as per the works instruction in order to promote the ability of the laboratory to provide accurate and reliable quality analysis;
  • Taking responsibility for creating identification boards used to identify stockpiles, in order to prevent contamination;
  • Ensuring that all stockpiles are accurately labelled with the correct ID boards in order to ensure the integrity of the raw materials going to the furnaces;
  • Taking samples from furnaces bins in order to determine % of moisture according to the SANAS standards as per the works instruction in order to promote the ability of the laboratory to provide most accurate quality analysis.
  • Taking care of vibrator screens for all materials loaded to the furnace bins as it could impact grade up to 2 hrs per shift;
  • Registering all samples taken in a sampling book for chemical and % moisture and taking the samples to the preparation room and collect empty bins to be washed before re-use;
  • Ensuring good housekeeping on the floor in order to promote safety at work;
  • Performing adhoc tasks as required by the business such as to performing non-routine samples, missing and special request samples etc. which is adhoc related to sampling procedure; and
  • Ensuring an accurate and complete handover to the change of shift in respect to goods received & new stockpile created in order to ensure that contamination does not occur due to miscommunication.
  • Grade 12;
  • Knowledge of HSEC Systems;
  • Proficient in English; and
  • Medically fit in terms of OHS Act.
