Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Main Objectives of the Position
Under the direct supervision of the MUMI Chief Executive Officer, the Manager – Social Performance will lead the implementation of MUMI SARL’s social engagement strategy in order to manage social impact activities by promoting social performance management, ensuring alignment with business objectives while managing complex social risks. The successful candidate will establish trusted relationships with communities living around the Mutanda mine, promote responsible practices, and deliver measurable sustainable development outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, or a related field.
A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
Required Experience
Proven experience of 15+ (fifteen or more) years in social performance or community socio-economic development roles, preferably within the mining sector.
Strong understanding of social issues, cultural dynamics, and the socio-economic context of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Familiarity with and experience in social impact assessment methodologies, stakeholder engagement methodologies, resettlement frameworks, the current DRC Mining Code requirements, and international best practices.

Fluency in written and spoken French. Proficiency in English and Swahili will be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Promote the social investment strategy.
Oversee the timely delivery of community development projects within agreed timelines and budgets.
Measure the impact and effectiveness of projects to address community needs aligned with MUMI’s strategic objectives.
Deliver 100% of Cahier de Charge projects on time and within budget.
Lead the implementation of the MUMI ASM management plan and ensure an adaptive approach aligned with changing dynamics.
Measure the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies to prevent or minimize negative social impacts.
Review and monitor the cross-functional effectiveness of the social risk register.
Measure the level of satisfaction of local communities through regular surveys.
Lead, coach, and develop department team members to foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Evaluate team performance and provide continuous feedback and coaching to improve individual and collective capabilities.
Implement and maintain environmental management systems in accordance with ISO 14001 standards.
Comply with Glencore environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL environmental policy.
