In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities to optimize equipment reliability, availability and operational performance;
  • Coordinating maintenance activities for buildings, roads, stormwater systems, plumbing, civil infrastructure, utilities, change houses, HVAC systems, sewage treatment facilities, road maintenance, landscaping and general site infrastructure;
  • Coordinating the maintenance of critical water infrastructure, including dams, potable water systems, bulk water distribution networks, pumps, reservoirs and associated equipment to ensure uninterrupted supply and statutory compliance;
  • Coordinating the operation and maintenance of sewage treatment plants, wastewater systems, wash bays and concrete batching facilities;
  • Coordinating maintenance of fleet, pumps, motors, mechanical equipment, LDVs, TMMs and other maintenance assets to maximize equipment availability and reliability;
  • Planning, scheduling and monitoring maintenance work, coordinating breakdown activities and supporting maintenance projects from planning through to completion;
  • Coordinating lifting and cranage activities in accordance with the Glencore Fatal Hazard Protocol (FHP08), applicable legislation and company standards, ensuring statutory inspections, certification, lifting equipment compliance, lift planning and implementation of critical controls;
  • Coordinating contractors and service providers by monitoring work quality, verifying compliance with approved scopes of work, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, company standards and safety requirements;
  • Promoting HSEC excellence by participating in workplace inspections, Planned Task Observations (PTOs), Safety Interactions (SIs), Visible Felt Leadership (VFL), risk assessments, incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions;
  • Supporting the Permit-to-Work system by coordinating work authorizations, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), Continuous Risk Assessments (CRAs), statutory inspections and all additional permits required for the safe execution of work;
  • Maintaining statutory registers, maintenance records, equipment certification, tool registers, PPE inspections, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), maintenance reports and other controlled documentation;
  • Monitoring maintenance performance through KPIs, maintenance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability, reduce costs and enhance operational performance;
  • Coordinating procurement of maintenance materials and services while supporting effective stock control and inventory management; and
  • Providing technical support, coaching and guidance to employees and contractors while promoting effective communication and collaboration across the Site Maintenance Department.

About you:

  • Grade 12 (Matric);
  • Qualified Artisan (Trade Test) in Mechanical Fitting discipline;
  • Civil Engineering qualifications will be advantageous;
  • Valid driver's license;
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook);
  • Knowledge of SAP, Coupa, Passport 360 or similar maintenance management systems will be advantageous;
  • 5 - 10 Years experience in maintenance, engineering, mechanical maintenance or site maintenance coordination;
  • Sound mechanical knowledge of rotating equipment, pumps, motors, utilities and general plant infrastructure;
  • Experience in coordinating contractors, maintenance service providers and statutory inspections;
  • Experience in maintenance planning, work scheduling and asset reliability;
  • Proficient in English written language;
  • Medically fit in terms of OHSAct; and
  • Knowledge of HSEC Systems.
