Lime is the largest global shared micromobility business, operating in close to 30 countries across five continents. We’re on a mission to build a future where transportation is shared, affordable and carbon-free. Our electric bikes and scooters have powered more than one billion rides in cities around the world. Named a 2025 Time 100 Most Influential Company, Lime continues to set the pace for shared micromobility globally, spurring a new generation of clean alternatives to car ownership.
Lime is seeking a Senior Government Relations Lead to spearhead our policy and public affairs strategy in Barcelona and contribute to our expansion strategy across Spain. Reporting to our Deputy Regional Head of Government Relations for Iberia, you'll lay the groundwork for Lime’s public affairs presence, driving engagement with policymakers, regulators, and local stakeholders to enable the sustainable growth of our shared mobility service in Barcelona, and across major Spanish metropolises.
This is a strategic, hands-on role where you will set direction, establish relationships, and build the foundations for a sound relationship and collaboration with City Councils and local stakeholders, especially in Catalonia. You'll act as Lime’s daily representative in Barcelona or Seville, shaping our public positioning, identifying policy opportunities and challenges, and ensuring our operations align with the region’s mobility priorities.
You share our vision for shared, affordable and sustainable mobility and can communicate it persuasively to diverse audiences — from city officials to national decision-makers. Working closely with global and regional teams, you will play a pivotal role in defining Lime’s long-term success and reputation in Iberia.
This is a hybrid position, combining onsite and remote work. The individual hired in this position must be based in or near Barcelona.
This position requires occasional travel to support business operations, which is considered an essential function of the role. Lime will provide reasonable accommodations as needed.
What you'll do:
Build and lead strategic relationships with senior government and city officials, policymakers, and regulatory agencies, meeting regularly to build trust and mutual understanding, mitigate potential obstacles, and advance Lime’s strategic priorities.
Shape and execute Lime’s public policy and advocacy agenda, ensuring strong alignment between business objectives, regulatory strategy, and community engagement goals.
Serve as a trusted advisor to internal leadership and cross-functional teams, helping navigate complex political and regulatory environments and identify opportunities for growth and collaboration.
Represent Lime externally with public institutions, transit authorities, and key partners to promote how Lime’s mobility solutions can best serve their cities.
Partner with organizations, educational institutions, and community groups to align Lime’s mission with local transportation, environmental, and social initiatives.
Collaborate closely with other Lime teams — including operations, communications, marketing, and government relations — to ensure coordinated execution across markets.
Manage and guide the work of external advisers and consultants, ensuring high-quality engagement and consistent policy messaging.
Track, interpret, and advise on relevant regulatory and legislative developments, anticipating their impact and shaping Lime’s proactive response.
About you:
Degree in Politics, Communications, Law, Public Relations, or equivalent experience.
7+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, political campaigns, or business development in a government-related environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to identify and drive mutually beneficial outcomes in complex political contexts.
Proven ability to prioritize, evaluate, and influence policy pathways that support Lime’s growth using measurable outcomes.
Comfortable working in fast-paced environments and engaging at senior institutional levels.
Available for travel.
Full English, Catalan and Spanish proficiency required.
Preferred Experience:
Ability to build diverse, cross-functional relationships across Lime’s business to identify key policy issues and navigate priorities effectively.
Established network within transportation, government, or advocacy sectors in your market.
Experience managing consultants or external partners.
