Mangrove Lithium, a Vancouver based company, has developed a breakthrough electrochemical platform for the most cost-effective production of battery grade lithium hydroxide and carbonate from diverse input streams and assets. Mangrove’s modular solution can be scaled to any capacity and co-located with upstream lithium producers, battery recyclers, or battery manufacturers. The company has attracted funding from Bill Gates’ Breakthrough Energy Ventures, BDC Capital and BMW I Ventures. The Company has a highly experienced leadership team with a track record of successfully commercializing and deploying industrial technologies and is working towards the deployment of a first-of-a-kind commercial plant.

Mangrove is looking for a skilled Electrical Instrumentation Technician to deploy and maintain controls and power distribution infrastructure for our pilot and commercial plants located in Delta, BC (Annacis Island and Tilburry Island). The individual will have experience in installation and servicing of controls instrumentation and PLC architecture, as well as AC and DC power distribution systems. The Electrician will work with our Process Engineering and Maintenance teams to perform both regular preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to our facilities, in addition to executing upgrades to expand the functionality of our systems.

Note: This position is located at our Annacis Island and Tilburry Island (Delta, BC) facility and will sometimes require overnight shifts. The location is accessible via transit, however overnight shifts may require more reliable transportation arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of power distribution and control infrastructure
  • Assist with planning of upgrade and maintenance projects
  • Assemble bills of materials for related work
  • Execute on electrical and control system projects
  • Perform preventative and emergency maintenance on electrical systems
  • Participate in testing and commissioning of new electrical and control systems
  • Calibration of electrical devices, instruments and components in application to industrial equipment
  • Maintain service and calibration records through thorough and accurate documentation
  • Ensure that safety and environmental rules and programs are followed

Required Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Completion of an industrial electrician apprenticeship or combination of over 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Red Seal certified as either an Industrial Electrician or Instrumentation Control Technician
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical and controls systems
  • Experience with PLC programming is an asset
  • Familiarity with electrochemical technology is an asset
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance challenges
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require occasional evening and weekend work to address emergency situations
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to walk, stand, and perform manual labour for extended periods
