Mangrove Lithium is a dynamic and rapidly growing technology company committed to developing our Lithium Refining process. As we expand our operations, we are seeking a highly motivated and adaptable individual to join our team in the pivotal role of Controller. The Controller will work under the direction of the Director Finance and liaise with external accountants/auditors as well and internal managers. The successful Controller will be a CPA and have progressive hands-on project accounting experience. This role requires a hands-on, detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Review and manage all accounts, ledger, and reporting systems.
• Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations including liaising with bookkeeping & payroll management firm as well as with HR.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reporting package.
• Assist with preparation of Consolidated FS report for Board of Directors and stakeholders.
• Assist with year-end audit and prepare working papers.

• Assist with construction and management budgets for a First of a Kind Plant.
• Analyze financial performance against budget.
• Assist with banking and liaising with project managers, internal and external stakeholders daily.
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, including indirect taxes and payroll taxes.
• Support the Director of Finance in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
• Support the Executive team with due diligence and preparation of grant applications, equity raise.
• Preparation of financial working papers for year-end tax returns and SRED applications.
• Carries out other projects and duties as required.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years of senior accounting roles.
• Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Xero, NetSuite, MS Dynamics or SAP Business One is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across departments.
