Description
The Production Manager will lead the Plant Operations and Quality Assurance teams in their mandate to commission and bring online Mangrove’s first commercial lithium refinery in Delta, BC. The Production Manager reports to the Director of Operations and will work closely with their teams, as well as with Maintenance and Engineering divisions to transition Mangrove’s plant operations from pilot scale to the successful deployment of this commercial production facility. This is an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to take on the challenge of integrating this novel technology into the lithium-refining process on an industrial scale.
Responsibilities
- Achieve production targets and customer deliveries on time and on budget
- Expand the Plant Operations and QA teams to support commercial operations
- Develop training programs and operating procedures for the Production division
- Support the development of a QA/QC program spanning the full process flow, with an emphasis on consistent, high product quality
- Ensure operations are compliant with all appropriate regulatory requirements
- Achieve and maintain high standards of safety and performance for the team and facility
- Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance divisions to optimize plant operations
- Manage and support Plant Operators and QA Lead
- Participate in budgetary planning for the production facility
- Responsible for reporting on KPIs to facility stakeholders
- Cultivate and foster a supportive and inclusive work-culture within the Production division
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Engineering or Physics or a related field
- 5-10 years of leadership experience in a commercial production setting, preferably in mineral-processing or a mining-related field
- Strong attention to detail and ability to develop operational protocols
- Data-driven decision making is central to your management style
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Enthusiastic about new technologies and familiar with their industrial integration
- Experience in commissioning a chemical plant or an industrial-scale first-of-a-kind facility
- Previous experience in electrochemistry or lithium processing are strong assets
