About Us

Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges of our time. Sea levels are rising. Storms are intensifying. Extreme heat is displacing vulnerable communities.

Amidst the challenge, we are witnessing an industrial reinvention at a truly unprecedented pace that reduces emissions and stores atmospheric greenhouse gasses. Novel decarbonization solutions are being developed and deployed. Governments are banding together to create groundbreaking policies. New markets are being established to bring every business into the fold. Mangrove’s mission is to enable the world’s most critical projects that support this industrial reinvention. We are building the fabric that connects technology, policy, and markets to help projects reach gigaton scale.

Our Values

We are Tenacious

We are relentlessly focused on solving important problems for our customers that will help their carbon projects be more successful in improving the health of our climate.

We are Precise

Trust is paramount. At Mangrove we operate with surgical precision because we know that the success of our customers' carbon projects relies on their unwavering trust in our data and our platform’s meticulous ability to track CO2 and its respective emissions.

We are Thoughtful

We believe that the right solution requires a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and challenges. This understanding is manifested in every design and every solution that we build.

About the Role

This is an incredible opportunity to be an early, foundational team member at a climate-tech company solving a critical problem in one of the most important and fastest-growing markets. As the go-to person for customer implementations, you will be responsible for managing multiple concurrent work streams in a complex program to facilitate an efficient and successful product implementation and customer onboarding process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end implementation process for new customers, from initial kickoff through to solution configuration and to successful deployment.
  • Leverage carbon markets expertise to tailor the implementation process for clients based on their specific pathway. Engage customers in complex technical discussions or troubleshooting exercises to delivering the most effective solution
  • Become a trusted advisor to our customers during solutions implementation—educating them about carbon programs, emerging best practices in MRV, and advising them on strong data management practices and how to best use Mangrove’s platform
  • Be a technical expert on the nuances of accounting and data management through Mangrove’s platform. Frequently demonstrate the use and best practices of our products.
  • Work closely with product and engineering teams to customize and configure the platform according to specific customer needs, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and workflows.
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers and our engineering team, translating customer feedback into actionable technical specifications to drive enhancements and ensure the platform meets evolving market needs.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, status reports, risk & issue logs, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with commercial, product, and engineering teams to inform various stakeholders of upcoming tasks, project statuses, and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Provide regular updates and progress reports to both internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Gather feedback post-implementation to drive continuous improvement in our processes and product offerings.
  • Support change control processes and governance meetings to ensure alignment and integrity of the project scope and timeline.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with customers, fostering trust and long-term partnerships.

Qualifications & Experience

Successful candidates are likely to have the following qualifications and experiences; we strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet all of the items below.

  • 3+ years in a high-performance, customer-facing solutions engineering/account management/delivery role.
  • 3+ years of project management experience preferred, some of which was spent on complex projects lasting 2+ months.
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale customer implementations, coordinating and managing cross-functional workstreams to implement software platforms.
  • Understanding of modern data infrastructure and enterprise techstacks preferred - cloud applications and databases, API schemas, data analysis with SQL/Python etc.
  • Experience working closely with product and engineering teams with a strong ability to translate business requirements to technical requirements.
  • Strong engagement skills and presence, with an ability to establish relationships with key decision makers and build credibility at all levels.
  • Strong familiarity with project management best practices and the ability to leverage tools and processes to level up customer implementations.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex software implementations with limited oversight in a distributed environment.
  • Demonstrated core problem-solving skills in ambiguous situations to deliver a successful implementation and customer onboarding.
  • Experience working in or adjacent-to the carbon project development markets a strong bonus.

Skills & Traits We Value

  • Highly detail-oriented: you sweat the small stuff, you’ve managed complex implementations before and you know the watch-outs and hurdles to jump through for a successful delivery.
  • Insatiably curious: you are naturally motivated to go deep to learn how specific capture and removal pathways generate climate impact, how all types of data need to be tracked within these projects, how credits are traded on markets, how Mangrove’s product works. You take the time to stay abreast of new developments in the markets, and in data best practices.
  • Adaptable and resilient: scope changes, timelines adjust, challenges emerge — you’re skilled at finding elegant solutions to complex problems.
  • Customer obsessed: Passionately committed to understanding and fulfilling customer needs, you prioritize customer satisfaction in every aspect of the implementation process.
  • Bias towards action: you get things done and can make decisions while understanding customer, commercial, product, and engineering tradeoffs.
  • Clear, effective verbal communicator: confidence in proposing and leading customer meetings, and communicate clearly and succinctly with team members, customers, and product users. You are especially adept at using the right tools (e.g. diagramming tools like Figjam) to facilitate groups in virtual settings.
  • Positive and optimistic: you’re excited to be implementing software to support the carbon market and are optimistic about the future we’re working to build.
  • Lead by example: you set an example in the company by operating with honesty, kindness, and integrity.
  • Believe in the power of small focused teams: you’ve seen the power of highly effective teams and don’t default to hiring when faced with capacity constraints.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you. We’re growing and are excited to have teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We’re passionate about building a diverse team that will make a meaningful impact on the planet.
