We are seeking a Technical Product Manager to drive the development and success of our core carbon accounting and reporting products at Mangrove. This person will own product specifications end-to-end, ensuring quality, and where needed act as the product before it exists in the market.

The Problems You Will Get to Solve
The portfolio of problems you will own are urgent and extremely interesting. This includes: empowering carbon projects with compliant reporting, creating an industry-standard system for precise carbon accounting, managing data at scale, automating report and insight generation, and tailoring MRV features to specific carbon pathways. You will own requirements, specifications, and product marketing, focusing on delivering outcomes not individual features or completing tasks.

Proven ability to build: you’ve founded a company, owned a product in a larger organization and/or built a software product from the ground up
A sense of urgency and a bias towards execution: You ruthlessly prioritize, make smart tradeoffs, and use tools like AI to automate tasks, unblocking your team and focusing on core issues without needing direction.
Drawn to solving hard technical problems with elegance and clarity.
You do not re-invent the wheel: Leverage existing patterns and best practices to find quick, effective solutions.
You do well within distributed teams - colleagues and customers are in many different locations - you are comfortable in a high-transparency, high-communication culture.
Clear communicator: You adapt messages for technical and non-technical audiences, staying focused on immediate goals, and connecting well with customer leadership.
Experience at early-stage companies - You’re keenly aware of the goals and priorities. You can do the slow process well but also the fast things fast
Lead by example: you set an example by operating with kindness and integrity. You play well within a team with no ego, willing to share credit and take responsibility.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience as a software product manager building data-intensive applications in high-growth environments
Be technical. You'll recommend PR changes to improve usability, be a primary technical contact for Mangrove, test APIs, define data schemas, and own product considerations for technical features like data fetches and transformations.
Comfort with Git, Markdown, Python or Ruby is a big plus
You have worked with big data. In our world, data is the product. Our projects need to make sense of hundreds of thousands of datapoints on a regular basis. You are required to be quantitatively-minded, but you should bring it all together in a digestible way to get users to insights faster.
Scientific papers make for regular weekend reading too
A strong partner to GTM. You are comfortable gleaning customer insights through sales conversations, interviews, and continuous feedback loops. You can sense strategic opportunity and open those doors wherever possible.
Review functionality in development to confirm correct, well-designed implementation
Demonstrated ability to prototype and validate early ideas quickly
You do not need a designer to get a first draft or POCs out
Tools we use: Figma, Cursor, n8n, Replit
You have a strong intuition on how to deliver a customer experience through a thoughtful interface, while allowing manual fulfillment to start where appropriate
Be tenacious about delivering clarity and value to customers to solve messy problems
Carbon experience preferred - carbon accounting and emissions factors, LCAs, CI scores, sensitivity analysis, are all concepts that you may have worked with before.
If not, a demonstrated ability to quickly become the SME is necessary
What you aren’t
A pure product strategist without the technical ability to prototype or build
Someone who is only comfortable with internal stakeholders.
You do not treat product management as delegation.
