Founders Associate
Material Evolution
About the Role:
This isn’t just HR, ops, or admin role - it’s the glue that holds the company together. You’ll wear many hats, connect all the dots, and help power everything from people to projects, strategy to culture. As the Founders Associate, you’ll be the trusted right hand to our CEO and senior leadership team, owning everything from people operations and board prep to project delivery and culture-building. You’ll keep our house in order, unblock bottlenecks, and make sure we’re aligned, organised, and moving forward.
Whether you’re organising a board meeting, refining our hiring process, helping secure a grant, or coordinating a demo plant build, you’ll be at the centre of it all.
What You’ll Be Doing:
People & Culture
- Be the go-to person for all HR operations: onboarding, payroll coordination, contracts, policies, and record-keeping
- Help make Material Evolution an amazing place to work - from wellbeing initiatives to planning unforgettable team socials
- Work closely with the Director of Marketing on internal comms, team updates, and all-things-people
- Coordinate recruitment workflows and manage applicant tracking systems
- Partner with leadership to drive engagement, company parties and internal culture initiatives
Founders Support & Strategy:
- Work closely with the Founders and SLT to manage calendars, prep for meetings, and drive executive priorities
- Coordinate logistics and materials for board meetings, investor updates, and fundraising efforts
- Keep our internal financial models and trackers clean and up-to-date
- Help spin up and drive ‘special projects’ that need fast thinking and faster doing
Operations & Execution:
- Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks across departments
- Keep the lights on: from office management to IT coordination, travel, and facilities
- Be the glue that connects different parts of the business and keeps everyone aligned
Commercial & Comms:
- Help build customer decks, support market research, and analyse new opportunities
- Assist with content for LinkedIn and other external channels
- Track, manage, and help write government grant applications and reporting
- Support the commercial team on legal materials, proposals, and internal coordination
