As a Senior Research Engineer at Matic, you will work with a talented, seasoned team building novel algorithms to help our robot understand and interact with its environment. You will push the boundaries of robot perception, building endearing robots that will change the way people manage household tasks.

The ideal candidate has a passion for solving problems and deploying those solutions to real, working products. We’re looking for detail-obsessed “idea machines”, able to push beyond the current state of the art to break new ground in robotic perception.

What you'll do

• Enable Level 5 autonomy in consumer robotics.

• Lead core projects and mentor junior engineers

• Translate open-ended, real-world problems into well-defined machine learning problems

• Architect fast, robust software where testing, debugging, and visualization are foundational

• Innovate on novel neural network architectures and build scalable machine learning infrastructure to train on large datasets

What we look for

• 3+ years of experience working on applied problems in computer vision, machine learning, or robotics

• Proficient in systems programming with Rust and/or C++; fluency in Python

• Strong software development and team collaboration skills

• Track record of success in leading projects and teams to successfully delivering key projects or products

• Academic training in computer science or a related field; graduate degree work is a plus

• Publication of impactful papers in machine learning, computer vision, robotics, computer science, or related fields
