About us:

We’re a Series A company building intelligent, endearing robots for consumer use at home. The home autonomy space has been dramatically overlooked when it comes to robotics. While the last decade has seen an influx of companies promising self-driving cars and intelligent humanoids, none are delivering these solutions reliably or affordably. Meanwhile, regular people are still stuck spending dozens of hours per week on repetitive household chores.

At Matic, we're leveraging advanced technology to address this problem. We've started by reimagining what autonomous floor cleaning robots can achieve using AI and computer vision with our flagship product. From there, our goal is to continue automating other forms of household labor, shipping realistic, affordable, and privacy-first robots to our users while building iteratively toward more complex tasks and capabilities over time.

About the role:

We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Global Sourcing Manager to join
our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing electronics commodities,
including but not limited to ICs, PCBAs, EMS/Contract manufacturing, Electronics, Cameras,
SoC, and system sub-assemblies, for our organization globally. The ideal candidate should
possess a strong understanding of commodity sourcing in an electronics manufacturing industry
and have excellent communication and negotiation skills.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for electronics commodities (SoC,
memory, MOSFETs, Diodes, resistors, capacitors, power management ICs, PCBAs etc)
    in alignment with business objectives.

  • Manage and optimize the procurement process of multiple commodities, including
supplier selection, contracting, and price negotiations.

  • Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers, ensuring compliance with contractual
obligations and identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Conduct supplier assessments and audits to evaluate supplier capabilities, quality
    systems, and overall performance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and
manufacturing, to ensure sourcing decisions align with the company's overall goals and
    objectives.

  • Monitor market trends and industry developments, leveraging this information to make
    strategic sourcing decisions.

  • Work closely with supply chain partners to develop and implement inventory strategies
that optimize cost and minimize risk.

  • Develop and execute capacity ramp plans to support organizational growth and demand
    forecasts.

  • Utilize a should-cost framework to ensure that purchased electronic commodities are
obtained at the lowest possible total cost, while still meeting quality and delivery
    requirements.

  • Implement dual sourcing strategies for critical components to reduce supply chain risks
    and improve supply chain resiliency.

  • Draft and negotiate contracts with suppliers, including terms and conditions, pricing, and
    delivery schedules.

  • Monitor supplier performance metrics, including on-time delivery, quality, and cost, and
develop corrective action plans as needed.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement value engineering
opportunities to reduce the cost of mechanical commodities while maintaining or
    improving quality.

  • Collaborate with contract manufacturing/EMS partners to ensure the successful ramp-up
of production. Provide process validation, and resolve any manufacturing issues that
    may arise during the transition.

  • Provide regular reports to senior leadership on sourcing performance, supplier
performance, market trends, and other key metrics.

What we look for:

  • BS in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field

  • At least 5 years of experience in global sourcing, with a focus on electronics
commodities, including cameras and contract manufacturing.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement sourcing strategies that drive cost
    savings and improve supplier performance.

  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage supplier relationships to ensure alignment
    with organizational goals and objectives.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with
    cross-functional teams and influence decision-making.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data analysis and reporting.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

We'd love to hear from you if...

  • You are a highly motivated individual with a passion for global sourcing

  • You genuinely like to help those around you

  • You are passionate about learning outside of your normal comfort zones

  • You love diagnosing complex technical issues

  • You are excited to do great work

If you got to this point, we hope you're feeling excited about this opportunity at Matic! Even if you don't feel that you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply. We're eager to meet people who are keen to learn and are passionate about what Matic is building. We want to hear how you can contribute to our team in a variety of ways – not just the above boxes.
