The Role:

  • Responsible for business dev. and sales of carbon credits from our Rice projects to corporate end-buyers and funds.
  • First hire within our Sales & Marketing team – goal is for this candidate to become an executive-level team member.

Our Mission:

  • Agriculture accounts for over 20% of global GHG emissions, and we believe that sustainable agriculture practices, or regenerative agriculture, has the power to reduce these while cooling the earth. Through technology, our goal is to understand the true environmental impact each farmer has on their land, and compensate farmers who change their farming practices to support climate change.

  • We are a climate-tech startup empowering regenerative agriculture to help reverse climate change! At Mitti Labs, we believe regenerative agriculture is the most scalable & affordable solution to the climate crisis.
  • Starting with Rice, the largest emitter within agriculture, our mission is to support small-holder farmers in transitioning from traditional farming to regenerative techniques with the goal of reducing and capturing GHG emissions.
  • Mitti Labs uses machine learning, satellite imagery, and soil models to track farming practices, estimate GHG emissions, and compensate small-holder farmers for their transition towards more sustainable practices.
  • We’re backed by leading global VCs (Lightspeed India and Voyager Ventures), all of whom passionately believe in our vision to change the world through regenerative agriculture.

What You Will Help Us With:

  • Lead shaping Mitti Lab’s go-to-market strategy, helping create and implement a process for selling to enterprise customers.
  • Lead marketing of compelling sales materials in a variety of formats to appeal to the target audiences.
  • Implement a variety of sales activities: cold/warm calling, networking, (digital) marketing in collaboration with the communications team; organize and participate in events, follow up on leads coming in through different media.
  • Maintain a portfolio of existing customers and be the primary (account management) contact for them within the organization; strengthening relationships with existing customers is of great importance.
  • Inform and advise the management about trends in the market and recommend strategic changes.
  • Keep current with all relevant industry trends (based on customer data, behaviors, and feedback) to ensure the messaging of Mitti Labs resonates with the target customers.

Experience & Skills We're Looking For:

  • 5-10 years of experience in Sales, GTM strategy, or Consulting
  • Experience in structuring multi-year Voluntary Emission Reduction Purchase Agreements (VERPA)
  • Experience in sales-facing carbon project finance strategies, such as pre-payments, royalties, streams and structured finance.
  • Excellent networks with sustainability managers of large industries/corporates, trade desks.
  • Knowledge of carbon markets and/or forestry carbon credits.
  • Experience as an effective communicator who is articulate and persuasive in both the spoken and written word; must be adept at crafting sales materials and making sales presentations.
  • Be a self-starter with a growth mindset; be curious, organized and driven, used to working in changing market conditions.
  • Experience in establishing clear performance targets and metrics, with proven track record of meeting or exceeding challenging targets.
  • Experience in scaling up a fast-growing organization in a highly competitive market environment.
