The Role:

  • Mitti Labs is looking for a Lead Project Developer to help Mitti Labs originate the highest quality Rice projects in India.
  • You will be responsible to support Founders, Head of Offset Sales, and Operations team in the design and implementation of Carbon & GHG projects and take overall responsibility of developing projects.
  • You will serve as a technical resource to support the design and certification of those projects, ensuring meet Mitti Labs’ standards, vision and mission.

What You Will Help Us With:

  • Lead the co-design, conceptualization, and implementation of carbon projects that combine social and environmental changes for the benefit of communities.
  • Lead the project development of assigned carbon & GHG emissions projects including feasibility assessments.
  • Lead the project with the validation and verification process of offsets.
  • Lead and provide support in drafting feasibility studies, due diligence reports, investment proposals and guarantee the monitoring and evaluation of the project's impact for potential carbon investments.
  • Managing a team of colleagues that ensures the integrity and quality of projects developed.
  • Improving the efficacy of team members and effectiveness of the project review process to ensure projects are handled on time and to the necessary quality standards
  • Support the development of tools, frameworks, and templates to facilitate project evaluation, design, and implementation in close coordination with the program teams
  • Conduct site visits and travel to project locations to perform on-field due diligence.
  • Support commercial teams on technical topics and carbon expertise with clients.
  • Develops strategic partnerships with relevant agencies, conservation organizations, and/or industry.

Experience & Skills We're Looking For:

  • Academic background in environmental sciences (agriculture, forestry, etc.), natural science, ecology, conservation, sustainability, environmental management, or any other relevant field of study.
  • Experience as carbon projects manager/sustainability manager in designing, evaluating, and/or implementing nature-based carbon and other land-based projects, including the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), Climate, Community, and Biodiversity Standard (CCBS), Gold Standard (GS), Verra, and Global Carbon Council (GCC).
  • Experience working for a carbon standard, validation and verification body, and/ or carbon project developer.
  • A track record in carbon project development and carbon project calculations, including first-hand field experience.
  • Excellent communication skills in presenting technical work to various audiences, including government leaders and local communities.
  • A strong network of contacts in key sectors, initiatives, alliances, and NGOs
  • Exposure to good agricultural practices is desirable.

Location:

  • This role is fully remote. However, being located in India is preferred for this role given the growth of Mitti Labs' program in the region.
