Mid-level Data Scientist(s) (5-10 years experience)
Support, guide, and execute geospatial data handling, image processing, crop modeling, and ML workflows to generate insights on cropland sustainability.
Prior experience (5-years) in ag-tech industry and/or govt lab.
Knowledge of remote sensing and data science enablers and products such as field boundary, crop residue management, irrigation tracking, soil moisture, seeding practices, and the different modalities, scales, and train / label data requirements.

What You Will Help Us With:
- Design and execute algorithms and workflows to characterize agricultural sustainability
- Pool, manage, QAQC, and blend data streams together from remote sensing, crop models, weather, soils and the field to help track tillage/residue, seeding practices, inundation cycles, and crop rotations
- Classify small holder field conditions using ML/DL, commercial imagery, drones, and open access remote sensing assets
- Conduct experiments, track metric accuracy, and improve model robustness
- Work with crop modelers, engineers, and product to make impactful analytics and drive methodologies
Experience & Skills We're Looking For:
- Background in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Remote Sensing
- Proficient (>5yrs) using Python
- Some combination of experience and/or knowledge of some of the following: PyTorch, STAC, matplotlib/plotly, shapely, NumPy, Pandas, SKlearn, TensorFlow, Docker, MXNet, Rasterio, GDAL, GEE
- Interest or knowledge of MLOps
- Experience with model optimization and tuning; ability to communicate outcomes to non-scientists helpful
- Comfortable managing and manipulating large datasets that contain large images
- Experience with VertexAI, Weights & Biases a plus
Location:
- This role is fully remote. However, being located in India, and Bangalore region, is preferred / heklpful for this role given the growth of Mitti Labs' program in the region.
