About the role

Muon seeks an Electronics Technician (Contract) to join our Assembly, Integration, and Test team. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated technician that will help both the Electrical Engineering team with prototype projects, as well as the Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) team to prepare flight hardware as a part of building the satellites.

This role requires 5 days onsite at the mountain view office.

This contract role is 3-6 months with option to extend.

Responsibilities

  • Advanced rework of prototype and flight printed circuit boards including soldering of fine pitch components
  • Assist engineers in assembly simple printed circuit boards for prototype use
  • Acceptance test and rework of flight harnesses
  • Visual inspection of flight electronics for soldering and mechanical defects
  • Assist in building test fixtures and test harnesses
  • Provide targeted surge support for company critical production or qualification test efforts

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with soldering & rework of high reliability electronics
  • Strong experience with and/or certification in IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and similar standards
  • Ability to rigorously follow written procedures and document results
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced environment with new challenges each week

Nice-to-have Skills

  • Experience manufacturing harnesses with high reliability requirements & familiarity with NASA-STD-8739.4 and IPC-A-620
  • Experience with proper techniques of application of conformal coat & staking epoxy
  • History with using electrical test equipment, such as power supplies and electric loads

Salary

The salary range for this role is [$40-$45 per hour] and will depend on a candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience as defined during the interview process.
