It is more than 10 times as efficient as a gas boat its size, and it boasts the longest range of any electric boat on the market.
Job Description:
Navier is seeking entry level and early career mechanical systems technicians to join our team and be an integral part of building and testing our vessels. In this role you will support the N30 production line through assembly and integration of vessel systems. You will work closely with engineers and other technicians to document process and build instructions while also supporting other production activities like inventory, part inspection, and rework.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble mechanical systems such as gearboxes, cooling systems, and bolted assemblies
- Inspect incoming hardware and components and perform necessary rework
- Develop and maintain assembly instructions and process documentation
- Provide verbal and written feedback to engineering team on design and manufacturability of assemblies
- Support hardware procurement and inventory management
- Support engineering team with bench tests and other prototyping tasks
Required Skills:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent trades school degree or certifications for entry level
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years hands on experience with no degree
- Experience with hand tools and basic inspection tools such as calipers
- Excellent attention to detail and strong desire to produce quality work
- Excellent documentation and written communication
- Climbing ladders, long durations of standing, grasping, sitting, pulling, and physical bending movements
- Must be able to lift 25lbs, unassisted
- This role requires to work onsite
Highly Desired:
- 3+ years practical experience as an automotive, marine, or other mechanical technician
- Basic electrical skills like cutting, crimping, soldering wire and troubleshooting of electrical systems
- Experience with the maritime environment (e.g., IP ratings, ABYC standard)
- Machining experience on mills and/or lathes
- Composite manufacturing and repair experience (carbon fiber, fiberglass, gelcoat)
- Warehousing and forklift experience
- Experienced and passionate boater
