Neara is a high-growth technology company, backed by some of the world’s leading venture capital and private equity investors, including EQT and Partners Group. Neara has developed a software platform that builds sophisticated, engineering-grade 3D digital models of critical infrastructure, delivered under a software-as-a-service model. To date, Neara has primarily focused on modelling electricity grids but is also expanding rapidly into other infrastructure verticals such as telecommunications and rail.

Neara’s software platform has been adopted by infrastructure owners and operators around the world to solve some of the greatest challenges facing the industry. Neara’s platform delivers solutions across the entire asset life cycle, from the design and construction of new networks to access renewable energy generation, to high-value problem statements in asset management, through to the impact of climate change and extreme weather on the reliability and availability of critical commodities such as electricity.

Recognised as one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential Companies of 2024, our vision is to change how the world designs, builds and operates critical infrastructure. After achieving close to 90% market share in Australia and New Zealand, Neara’s primary growth focus is now the Americas, the UK and Europe, where a significant majority of our revenue growth is now derived.

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead our digital twin quality assurance operations in the digitisation group, with a primary focus on managing offshore contractor teams responsible for QA work. You will be responsible for ensuring the last mile of quality and ensuring that the digital twins are fit for purpose.

You will work closely with engineering to build workflows that drive quality and speed, use data to create transparency and drive decisions while breathing the data to help direct where improvements are needed in the ML systems and collect the data needed to improve the AI systems that power the digital twin creation. This role will require you to investigate, address and solve open ended problems related to digitisation and QA and making sure your work goes end to end in all things.

At Neara, you will be part of a team that values your ideas, supports your development, and celebrates your successes. If you are motivated and results-driven, we’d like to meet you.

What will you do

Contractor Management

  • Business-wide ownership of the contractor QA process and its efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Establish clear expectations, deliverables, and performance metrics for contractor work.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to contractor teams and vendors.

  • Ensure effective knowledge transfer and training programs for contractor teams when new workflows are rolled out.

  • Manage contractor onboarding, access provisioning, and security compliance.

Quality

  • Design and implement comprehensive quality assurance frameworks for digital twin model validation.

  • Establish standardised processes and evaluate their effectiveness and consistency over time.

  • Create automated processes to ensure this data is valid, trustworthy and easily accessible for entire organisation to review.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Work with engineering to direct improvements and ensure the smooth rollout of new features and fast rollback if problems show themselves.

  • Work with project managers to ensure that QA needs are met in a timely manner and that we’re creating clear expectations for QA work.

  • Work across different business cultures with a focus on.

Who you are

  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing complex technical programs.

  • Enjoy getting into the weeds of data and forming bottom-up assessments on edge cases and quality deficiencies to make judgement calls.

  • Are comfortable using a combination of internal tooling, SQL, spreadsheets, and exhibit exceptional judgement in building repeatable processes.

  • Are deeply adaptable to projects in varying domains and complexities, and effectively reason about systems and processes for domains even beyond your core expertise.

  • Have an action-oriented and deeply curious mind, often leading you to become a power user of software and tools.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to bridge communication between different teams.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary

  • Meaningful ESOP

  • Fully Flexible Work Environment. We have a fully stocked office (and impressive snack collection) in Redfern
