VP, Delivery
Sydney, NSW, Australia
Imagine having the power to stress-test an entire power grid against a hurricane or thunderstorm before the clouds even gather. That is the reality we are creating at Neara.
We use advanced machine learning to create engineering-grade, physics enabled digital twins of electricity grids across four continents, this helps asset owners understand their biggest challenges and bring the most viable solutions to life across millions of kilometres of infrastructure.
By simulating extreme weather and structural stress at a network-wide scale, we empower the world’s largest utilities to pinpoint risks, optimise investments and build a more resilient global energy future.
Our team is a collection of brilliant minds who are fanatical about making a tangible difference in the real world, utilising AI and machine learning to accelerate everything from data classification to complex scenario analysis. We have built a special culture where innovation thrives because everyone owns the mission and we need smart, creative people to help us scale this impact to every corner of the globe.
The VP, Delivery is a seasoned enterprise software delivery leader with a proven ability to scale and operationalise global implementation functions. This role owns model build, deployment operations, contractor partner management, and QA execution across Neara's global utility customer base spanning the US, Australia, UK, and Europe.
This is an execution role, not a coordination role. You will build the delivery playbook, own the metrics, develop regional leaders, and be directly accountable for model quality, build velocity, and on-time delivery across a portfolio of complex, large-scale infrastructure projects. You will report directly to the CEO and work closely with Customer Success, Engineering, and Product to ensure what gets built actually delivers the intended customer outcome — not just what's in the contract.
What You'll Do
Own end-to-end delivery across four functions: model build, QA and CS-defined deployment processes, contractor partner management, and deployment operations
Own the delivery P&L — managing cost per deployment, contractor spend, and team utilisation to deliver margin targets
Drive consistent digital twin model quality, velocity, and standardisation — working with Customer Success to validate that what is built delivers the intended customer outcome, not just the contracted specification
Operationalise KPIs across the delivery function — model build cycle time, on-time delivery rate, contractor utilisation, and cost per deployment — with full visibility across all deliverable types such as vegetation analysis, pole loading, and LiDAR classification.
Build and own the delivery playbook covering model build, QA processes, and contractor execution — standardising what good looks like across all regions
Build and lead global delivery teams across AU, US, EU, and India — developing regional leaders capable of operating autonomously within a single global delivery framework, ensuring consistent delivery standards and rapid adoption of new functionality and best practices across all regions.
Own portfolio prioritisation, capacity allocation across internal teams and contractors, and delivery risk management
Drive AI and automation adoption within deployment operations — improving model build throughput, contractor allocation accuracy, and delivery forecasting
What You'll Bring
10+ years leading delivery or implementation functions, with at least 3 years at VP or equivalent level in a global SaaS business.
Proven track record leading delivery functions at scale in enterprise SaaS - ideally having built or substantially rebuilt a delivery model during your tenure, not just operated within one
Experience managing global delivery teams across multiple regions and timezones - direct experience across AU, US, EU, and India preferred
Familiarity with utility, energy, or heavy infrastructure customers is an advantage - you understand how compliance, operational risk, and procurement cycles shape delivery timelines and customer expectations
Deep familiarity with US enterprise customer dynamics - comfortable operating in the timezone and cadence of large, complex US project environments
Strong understanding of delivery economics: utilisation, margin management, capacity planning, and contractor cost structures
Proven ability to build and enforce delivery playbooks across distributed teams - you've standardised what good looks like across regions, not just documented it
Technically credible - able to engage with model build teams, understand quality and scope tradeoffs, and hold delivery standards without relying on CS to interpret customer requirements
Experience managing third-party contractor relationships at scale - you've owned vendor performance, not just tracked it
Highly analytical with strong operational judgment - you run delivery from data, not instinct
Active user of AI tooling in your own workflow with demonstrated impact on delivery efficiency or forecasting accuracy
Based in Sydney, Australia - willing to travel internationally, with primary focus on US
