Novoloop is an innovation company in plastics circularity. We have a differentiated chemical technology and a strong technical team. We're looking for an awesome chemistry and materials technician to help our team become more efficient with research and scale-up. This role is suitable for recent graduates (Bachelor or Associate) with 1-2 years of work experience in wet chemistry and/or analytical chemistry.

Full-time, ASAP start in Menlo Park on-site. Seeking local (Bay Area) candidates only who can interview on-site with short notice.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined procedures related to lab research under direct supervision: e.g. titrations, analytical sample prep and data processing, routine chemical treatment steps, chemicals and materials characterization, etc.
• Work within EH&S guidelines.
• Be responsible for the upkeep of the lab, including cleaning, washing, stocking, and organization.
• Present results at functional area meetings.
• Maintain lab equipment and inventory of chemicals and supplies, and work with vendors as needed.
• Perform routine and semi-routine scientific experiments and/or analysis. Identify operational issues.
• Draft and/or suggest edits for SOPs in the work area. Keep batch records and write experiment summaries.
• Assist with other areas of Lab Operations as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed by Novoloop or at the discretion of supervisors.
• Perform all duties in keeping with Novoloop’s values, policies and all applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry + at least 1 year of industry lab experience; or 5+ years of industry experience as a wet lab technician, no degree required
• Experience working with highly hazardous chemicals/materials preferred
• Passionate about solving the plastic waste problem, or about sustainability in general
• Willing to perform routine tasks and understand how they contribute to the company's mission and goals

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Permanent

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
