Your Mission

Ostrom is looking for the next amazing addition to our Product team! We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Product Manager to help lead one of our cross-functional teams. As part of the core Product team of product managers and designers, you will play a crucial role in defining, prioritizing, and delivering quality experiences that align with our overall mission of leading Europe's green energy transition.

We are looking for someone to lead our innovative Solar team, focused on transforming Ostrom into a leading home energy and device management system through smart integrations and optimisations for our customers, which is a key strategic pillar on top of providing them a great core energy experience.

What you will be keeping busy with

  • Leading and Driving Outcomes: Lead and collaborate with the cross-functional team of engineers, designers, and QA to deliver product features and improvements that positively impact our OKRs and delight customers.

  • Strategy & Roadmap Development: Work closely with the Product Lead and relevant stakeholders to develop and maintain a prioritised product roadmap, ensuring continual alignment with business objectives.

  • On-going Analysis & Research: Become an expert in customer wants, needs, and behaviours through quantitative and qualitative research, plus deeply understanding competitors and market trends, especially in the smart device management space.

  • Product Discovery: Use excellent discovery and problem solving skills to efficiently uncover and shape problems and solutions with various stakeholders, making sure to use iterative and hypotheses-driven approaches to craft clear requirements.

  • Product Delivery: Oversee the product development lifecycle in your cross-functional team from concept to launch, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality features and product enhancements, prioritising effectively along the way to drive outcomes, and measuring success post-release.

  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate and align on product plans, progress, and decisions to internal stakeholders, as well external stakeholders such as integration partners. You should also be an advocate and subject matter expert internally on your product area of smart devices.

Your profile

  • At least 2+ years of experience working as a Product Manager in ideally a fast-paced and dynamic startup/tech company.

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver successful digital products with common frameworks such as Agile and SCRUM.

  • Great stakeholder management skills including effectively communicating complex and technical concepts, aligning different points of view, and keeping people in the loop - we like to promote a culture of transparency.

  • Data driven, knowing when and what type of data to check for decision making should be second nature - we use a mix of Tableau, SQL, Adjust, Hotjar, Smartlook, GA4, and more.

  • User-centric, knowing how to tap into user insights (including conducting research/interviews), constantly wondering why users do what they do, and using instincts on what makes a good user experience to delight customers.

  • Naturally curious and eager to learn about different product domains/industries/user problems - many of us did not come from the energy industry but have become very knowledgeable.

  • Strong ownership and experience driving outcomes and being proactive, a natural problem-solver who does not shy away from hard things.

  • Pragmatic and flexible, knowing when to focus on a 'good enough’ solution and when to challenge whether we are working on the right thing - we pride ourselves on moving quickly but with confidence.

  • Strong command of English and German, minimum C1 - we are a vibrant international company who operate in English, but many of our customers are German-speaking, so we need both for this person to succeed at their role.

Nice to have

  • Some Technical Background: Having familiarity with APIs, endpoints, webhooks, Git, PRs and so on would help you converse more thoroughly with the tech team.

  • Some Energy Background: We love outsiders to bring new insights to an energy industry filled with incumbents. But if you happen to know what MaKo, GPKE, surplus charging, or VPP are, you would fit right in!
