As the People and Culture Manager at Ostrom, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our people strategy and fostering a culture where employees can thrive. Reporting directly to the Founding team, you will be the go-to person for all employee-related matters, collaborating with leadership, overseeing talent management, and ensuring smooth people operations. What you'll be keeping busy with
Recruitment (60% - 80%)

Own end-to-end hiring and recruitment, ensuring an efficient time-to-hire and a seamless candidate experience by:
Partnering with managers on role definition and workforce planning
Actively sourcing senior and hard-to-fill roles
Leading first-round interviews
Overseeing a smooth onboarding process
People Management (40% - 20%)
Act as a trusted advisor to managers, providing coaching on leadership, team development, and performance while driving engagement, well-being, and DEI initiatives.
Own and refine HR policies, processes, and compliance, ensuring a seamless employee experience while overseeing contracts, payroll, benefits, and labor law compliance.
Plan and organize two company-wide events annually, various workshops, performance reviews, and career development frameworks.
Your profile:
1+ years of experience in an HR or People & Culture role, within a fast-paced startup and/or scale up environment or similar.
Strong generalist background with experience across recruitment, employee relations, engagement, and people operations.
Ability to coach managers and employees through complex challenges and initiate difficult conversations with a solution-oriented mindset.
Solid understanding of labor laws and compliance requirements.
Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and work independently.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with having min C1 English and C1 German.
Based in Berlin or willing to relocate, we operate under a hybrid model and do not have required office days but the nature of this role does require being in the office at times for general employee matters.
Nice to have:
Experience scaling HR processes in a growing company.
Experience using Personio.
