Senior Product Manager
Parallel Systems is looking for a Senior Product Manager to own and build the product roadmap for our enterprise SaaS platform, a rail traffic integration system that connects across critical rail industry software and enables autonomous vehicle movement at scale.
This is the first product hire for our software platform and a true 0 to 1 opportunity to define product vision, roadmap, and execution in an industry undergoing foundational transformation.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, customers, and external rail partners to build an enterprise-grade system that integrates transportation management systems, signaling, yard management, train control, and other core rail infrastructure. While this role will interact with vehicle hardware and autonomy teams at a high level, the focus is squarely on enterprise software and systems orchestration.
Responsibilities
- Work with leadership to define and own the end-to-end product roadmap for Parallel’s enterprise SaaS platform
- Partner with software engineering to design and deliver a scalable rail traffic integration platform
- Lead product discovery across customers, rail partners, and internal stakeholders
- Drive integrations with legacy rail systems and modern APIs
- Collaborate cross-functionally with autonomy and vehicle software teams at a high level
- Set and track product KPIs that reflect real-world performance and customer value
- Ensure enterprise software integrates effectively with existing rail industry platforms
- Drive prioritization, tradeoff discussions, and product decision-making across teams
What Success Looks Like
- After 30 days: You’ve built context across our software systems, taken ownership over the requirements of the core product, identified key external stakeholders, and delivered a forward-looking project schedule.
- After 60 days: You’ve defined an initial roadmap for core product areas, captured user stories, translated customer input into clear requirements, and are driving alignment between vehicle software and enterprise teams for initial customer integration.
- After 90 days: You’ve led the planning and kickoff of cross-functional product workstreams, developed the product roadmap, created specifications, established priorities with company leadership, set delivery expectations with stakeholders, and are seen as the go-to owner of the product direction.
Basic Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience, with ownership of complex SaaS systems or platforms
- Experience working in a startup or fast-paced, high-ambiguity environment
- Demonstrated experience shipping enterprise software
- Strong technical fluency & ability to converse with engineers and synthesize technical constraints into software product tradeoffs
- Experience working with legacy enterprise platforms and modern APIs
- Proven 0 to 1 product ownership
Preferred Requirements
- Experience working in both software and hardware product environments
- Background and/or interest in freight, logistics, transportation, or industrial systems
- Exposure to hardware development or hardware/software integrated products
- Familiarity with embedded systems and hardware/software integration
