🚀 About PermitFlow

PermitFlow’s mission is to streamline and simplify construction permitting in the $1.6 trillion United States construction market. Our software reduces time to permit, supporting permitting end-to-end including permit research, application preparation, submission, and monitoring.

We’ve raised a $31m Series A led by Kleiner Perkins with participation from Initialized Capital, Y Combinator, Felicis Ventures, Altos Ventures, and the founders and executives from Zillow, PlanGrid, Thumbtack, Bluebeam, Uber, Procore, and more.

Our team is remote first and consists of architects, structural engineers, permitting experts, and workflow software specialists, all who have personally experienced the pain of permitting.

Who you are?

This role is crafted for those who are not just thinkers but doers; individuals who can marry strategy with execution, ensuring our operational gears are well-oiled and running seamlessly. Your mission will be to serve as the backbone of our operations, intertwining financial acuity with operational prowess to guide the company towards sustainable growth and efficiency.

You'll be the architect of our operational and financial strategies, ensuring they align with our overarching business goals. Your expertise will be crucial in building robust policies, enhancing customer satisfaction, ensuring legal compliance, and leading technology implementation. You'll also play a critical role in risk management, quality assurance, budgeting, and reporting, all while fostering a culture of productivity and engagement among your teams.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborating with executives in the team on the business strategy

  • Creating policies that are consistent with the overall strategy

  • Coordinating customer service operations and look for ways to enhance customer retention

  • Ensuring compliance with local and international laws (e.g. data protection)

  • Supervising the implementation of technology solutions across the organization

  • Assessing risk and directing quality assurance efforts

  • Overseeing expenses and budgeting in order to assist the organization in maximising costs and benefits.

  • Mentoring and motivating teams to achieve productivity and engagement

  • Reporting on operational performance and putting forward improvements


🙌 Qualifications & Fit:

  • Academic and Professional Background: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, or related field, with at least 5 years in operations or finance roles within tech or construction sectors.

  • Financial and Operational Expertise: Solid experience in financial management, operational strategy development, and execution, with a knack for improving efficiency and growth.

  • Leadership and Team Development: Proven leadership abilities with a track record of mentoring teams towards productivity and engagement.

  • Adaptability: Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced startup environment, with a focus on strategic decision-making and operational agility.
