Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and scaling up of mechanical systems critical to our metals production operations.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to refine and enhance our process technology, ensuring seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  • Craft and update comprehensive mechanical designs, equipment layouts, and technical drawings utilizing 3D modeling software and CAD tools.
  • Conduct meticulous technical reviews, pinpoint and rectify issues ensuring the safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of designs and systems.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets diligently, provide clear communication on progress and results, and stay attuned to industry trends and technologies.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to source necessary materials, components, and equipment, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency.
  • Offer mentorship and guidance to junior engineers on the team, nurturing an atmosphere of continuous learning and growth.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering, with a substantial portion focused on smelting operations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in designing complex mechanical systems, preferably within high-temperature smelting or electrochemical processes.
  • Expertise with 3D modeling software and CAD tools.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of overseeing projects from conception through to completion.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of bridging various functional teams towards common project goals.
