Who we are looking for:
We are looking for a results-oriented Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead our world-class team in designing and optimizing equipment and systems for rare earth metal refining systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring these systems' efficient, reliable, and sustainable operation, contributing to clean energy technologies, electric vehicles, and advanced electronics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical design and development of critical metals production systems and scale up existing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize and improve process technology.
- Create and update detailed mechanical designs, equipment layouts, and technical drawings using 3D modeling software and CAD tools.
- Conduct technical reviews, identify and resolve issues, and ensure safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of designs and systems.
- Manage project timelines and budgets, communicate progress and results, and stay updated with industry trends and technologies.
- Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to source materials, components, and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing complex mechanical systems, preferably within high-temperature electrochemical processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB), experience with Onshape preferred.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes specific to metal refining.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on refining technology challenges.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks based on refining technology needs.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to mechanical design and safety in rare earth metal refining.
- Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and additive manufacturing tailored for rare earth metal refining applications is a plus.
- Thrives in fast-paced environments, demonstrating adaptability and efficiency in meeting project deadlines and objectives.
