Who We Are Looking For
Phoenix Tailings is seeking a driven, innovative Electrical Engineer for our2nd cohort of our Leadership Development Program (LDP). This intensive program is designed for individuals ready to immerse themselves in real-world electrical systems development, push their personal limits, and build the foundation for future leadership within the company. Success in this program will require dedication, a willingness to work long days and adapt to any shift the company needs, and the flexibility to step outside of traditional job descriptions to support critical projects. This program is not for everyone, but for those who want to challenge themselves, lead the future of clean metals production, and leave their mark on the world, Phoenix Tailings offers an unparalleled opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, assemble, and test electrical systems for cutting-edge rare earth and metal refining equipment
- Lead electrical design projects including power distribution, panel design, grounding, and protection
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, layout drawings, and cable schedules
- Oversee electrical safety, code compliance, and power system reliability across pilot and production systems
- Select components and design circuits for power electronics, heaters, motors, and sensors
- Provide hands-on support in panel wiring, system installation, and field testing
- Support integration of basic PLC-based control systems and instrumentation
- Contribute to the development of high-voltage and high-current systems used in novel refining processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Solid foundation in electrical circuit design, power systems, and industrial hardware
- Experience with electrical schematic tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience building and troubleshooting panels and industrial electrical systems
- Basic understanding or exposure to PLCs, automation systems, or instrumentation
- Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently in fast-paced settings
- Willingness to work in a hands-on, lab-scale and pilot plant environment
- Must be able to start on June 2nd
